Couples Counseling

Couples counseling is not about deciding who is “right.” It is about slowing down the patterns that keep two people stuck and helping each person feel more understood, respected, and emotionally safe in the relationship. I work with couples experiencing communication breakdowns, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, trust issues, life transitions, resentment, anxiety within the relationship, and difficulty feeling heard by one another.

My approach is influenced by evidence-based relationship work, including principles from well respected relationship psychologists, attachment theory, and emotionally focused approaches. I have spent significant time studying relationship dynamics and integrating practical, research-informed interventions into my work with couples. Sessions focus on identifying destructive cycles, improving communication, increasing emotional awareness, and helping couples move from reacting against each other toward working alongside each other.

Family Counseling

Family counseling provides a space for families to better understand one another, improve communication, and work through patterns that may be creating tension, conflict, or emotional distance within the home. Families often seek support when dealing with ongoing arguments, parenting stress, behavioral concerns, major life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, divorce, blended family dynamics, or difficulties navigating adolescent and young adult development.

My approach focuses on helping family members slow down reactive patterns, strengthen communication, and create a more stable and emotionally supportive environment. Sessions aim to increase understanding between family members while also addressing the individual stressors each person may be carrying into the family system. I work to create a balanced space where each person feels heard, respected, and supported while helping families build healthier ways of relating to one another both inside and outside of sessions.
